Solange Jacobs is a seasoned marketing executive with more than two decades of experience
driving growth and engagement for startups, high-growth companies, and mission-driven
organizations. Her expertise spans product marketing, demand generation, corporate
communications, and brand management, with a proven track record of aligning strategy with
impact.
As the founder of Solange Was Here Marketing Agency, she partners with nonprofits, social
ventures, small businesses, and technology companies to elevate their visibility, expand their
reach, and amplify their mission. Her career reflects both marketing excellence and a deep
commitment to community and civic engagement.
Solange serves as Executive Director of the Torrey Pines Conservancy, leading the
organization’s strategic growth and fundraising initiatives. She also heads Joy to the World
Namibia, a nonprofit supporting a school in northern Namibia. Her volunteer work includes
serving on The Old Globe Theater’s Community Advisory Committee, where she guides the
theater’s social justice initiatives, and previously advising the San Diego Mayor and City Council
on issues impacting women and girls as a member of the City of San Diego’s Commission on
the Status of Women.
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Solange holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication
from Stanford University and an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and
Technology. Outside of her professional and volunteer endeavors, she enjoys spending time
with her teenager and dog, practicing yoga and meditation, exploring the outdoors, and
