How It Happened

Greater Than Tech has been awarded $825,855 in federal funding through the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Congressionally Identified Projects Program — secured by Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (CA-51) as part of her FY2026 Community Project Funding.

This is a non-competitive award. Congress named Greater Than Tech specifically in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026 — one of 239 organizations identified nationwide, and the only East County youth workforce development organization named in this legislation.

“For us, this investment is about building the bridge between exposure and opportunity,” said Jasmine LeFlore, Co-Founder and Executive Director. “We’ve watched students encounter an emerging technology for the first time through Greater Than Tech and create things that genuinely surprise us. No we have an opportunity to ask: what comes next?”
